She went on to say, “We want to do everything we can to prevent unnecessary disruption of services to our customers and damages to our facilities, but even more importantly, we want to ensure the safety of all stakeholders working in the vicinity of our facilities.”

On September 1, 2009 New Mexico One Call (NMOC) began adding the centroid GPS (latitude and longitude) of the dig site on the actual ticket sent to the facility owners. The centroid makes it possible for ticket management systems to accurately route tickets to specific locators and helps the locator to find the general dig site. This item had been requested by member companies at the round table discussions held at NMOC’s annual meeting. The NMOC board listened to its members and agreed to pursue getting something done. The addition of the centroid GPS fulfills that commitment to its members. The centroid was added at no additional cost to the membership.
